It has been pretty chilly in the mornings so we are not opening until 9 now. Having said that its supposed to be beautiful this weekend. I have added some more pictures here to the Fall Gallery.

It is now October and Fall is in the air. The course is looking good with the leaves turning colours. Check out our Fall Gallery for some pics. Note that we are also opening at 8am now as we have had some frost in the mornings.

The 1st Annual Monck's Landing Invitational was held on Saturday. Mark Reiner posted the low score with a 78 while Jeff Rowley won both the longest drive (on #8) and closest to the pin (on #5).

Excited about the first long weekend since we have been opened. The weather looks great and we have run our first print ad in The Kawarthas This Week newspaper. Come on over - we will be glad to have you visit.

Despite the rain, we have managed to make a fair bit of headway on our planned course improvements over the last couple weeks. The greens have now been properly verticut, and the pot bunker on #3 is nearly completed - pictures to follow. We have, finally, received delivery of the tee mower blade and have been able to lower the cut on the tees to where they should be - now bomb away!

Double congratulations to Mike Gascho of Norland, ON. Mike, from the Lindsay GCC, dropped the first hole in one in Monck's Landing history today. The ace on the 3rd hold also helped Mike to the 9 hole record from the Blues - 35.

Pleased to report that yesterday's accident on Highway #35 did not lead to any serious accidents. According to the Lindsay Post, the accident between the Scouts bus, and the tractor trailer, operated by Eager Beaver Logging Float Service out of Bancroft, did not lead to any serious injuries.

After a few beautiful days things changed today and we had a serious downpour. Highway #35 had to be closed due to a bad accident and traffic was rerouted by the course. Thoughts and prayers to the families of the injured scouts.

A successful opening weekend, with a couple hundred golfers enjoying the weather. While we had a sign up on Hwy 35 we did little advertising. Course held up well, and tee blocks on #3 are coming in nicely.
